Ma perch\u00e9 una galleria ha 4 accessi? In realt\u00e0 perch\u00e9 \u00e8 una croce, infatti, camminando tranquilli su questi stupendi pavimenti in marmo vedrete, a met\u00e0 galleria, a destra e a sinistra, altre due aperture e, alzando gli occhi, una cupola in ferro e vetro spettacolare alta quasi 50 metri, come un palazzo a 16 piani!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Il povero architetto che la costru\u00ec (Giuseppe Mengoni) cadde gi\u00f9 proprio da lass\u00f9 il giorno dell\u2019inaugurazione e mor\u00ec sul colpo! Si narra, ma forse \u00e8 leggenda, che non cadde casualmente, ma che si butt\u00f2 di proposito perch\u00e9 deluso dalla mancata presenza del Re (Vittorio Emanuele II) il giorno dell\u2019inaugurazione! In realt\u00e0, il Re, che abitava a Napoli e che stava molto male, non pot\u00e9 avvisare Mengoni e tutti credettero allora ad un mancato apprezzamento della magnifica opera alla realizzazione della quale, pensate, lavorarono pi\u00f9 di 1000 operai al giorno!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Comunque, non vi preoccupate e continuate ad ammirare le decorazioni sui pavimenti\u2026 avete visto? C\u2019\u00e8 anche un toro, simbolo della citt\u00e0 di Torino\u2026 un\u2019altra leggenda narra che se riuscite a fare tre giri con il corpo tenendo solo il piede destro (il tallone in realt\u00e0) sulle \u201cpalle\u201d del toro, vi porter\u00e0 fortuna! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Per 100 anni o quasi, la galleria di Milano fu chiamata il\u00a0<\/span><\/span>salotto della citt\u00e0<\/span><\/span><\/em>\u00a0perch\u00e9 qui ci si trovava per discutere di politica o di affari o solo per fare quattro chiacchiere\u2026 poi le bombe della seconda guerra mondiale, ne distrussero gran parte, ma venne ricostruita tale e quale.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Have you seen the triumphal arch on one side of the square? It\u2019s one of the four entrances to the Galleria. If you go straight on from there, you can reach the Piazza della Scala without getting wet, if it\u2019s raining! But why does the galleria have four entrances? In fact, if you stroll along the wonderful marble pavement halfway through the galleria, you will see two other entrances on your left and right, and if you raise your eyes, a spectacular iron and glass dome that is nearly 50m in height, like a 16-floor building! The poor architect who built it, Giuseppe Mengoni, fell right from the top on the day of its inauguration and died instantly. In the Second World War, bombs destroyed much of the galleria, but it was reconstructed exactly the same. Heb je die triomfboog aan de ene kant van het plein gezien? Het is een van de vier ingangen van de galerij via dewelke je rechtstreeks naar het Piazza della Scala kan wandelen zonder nat te worden als het regent.
\nMaar waarom heeft een galerij 4 toegangen? Eigenlijk omdat het een kruis is. Als je rustig op deze prachtige marmeren vloeren wandelt zie je, halverwege de galerij, links en rechts, nog twee openingen en boven u een spectaculaire ijzeren en glazen koepel van bijna 50 meter hoog!
\nOp de dag van de inauguratie viel de arme architect die het bouwde (Giuseppe Mengoni) pardoes naar beneden en liet het leven. Er wordt gezegd, maar misschien is het een legende, dat het geen ongeluk was maar dat hij zich opzettelijk naar beneden had geworpen omdat hij teleurgesteld was dat koning Victor Emmanuel II, waaraan de galerij was opgedragen, op de dag van de inauguratie zijn kat had gestuurd. In werkelijkheid was de koning, die in Napels woonde, erg ziek en kon hij Mengoni niet tijdig waarschuwen. Iedereen geloofde dat de koning het resultaat niet waardeerde: nochtans het werk van meer dan 1000 arbeiders per dag!
\nIn de decoraties op de vloeren zie je ook een stier, het symbool van de stad Turijn, d\u00e9 rivaal van Milaan. Een andere legende vertelt dat als je drie bochten doet met je hiel op de ballen van de stier het je geluk zal brengen!
\nDe galerij werd lange tijd in Milaan de woonkamer van de stad genoemd, omdat je hier moest praten over politiek of zaken of gewoon om een praatje te maken. De bommen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog vernietigden veel stukken van de galerij maar het werd helemaal in zijn origineel heropgebouwd. Vandaag kan u Milaan ook bewonderen door bovenop het dak van de galerij te klimmen. Porque en realidad tiene forma de cruz. De hecho, si paseas por el maravilloso suelo de m\u00e1rmol a mitad de camino a trav\u00e9s de la galer\u00eda, ver\u00e1s otras dos entradas a tu izquierda y derecha, y si levantas los ojos, \u00a1una espectacular c\u00fapula de hierro y vidrio de casi 50 metros de altura, como un edificio de 16 pisos! El pobre arquitecto que lo construy\u00f3, Giuseppe Mengoni, cay\u00f3 desde la cima el d\u00eda de su inauguraci\u00f3n y muri\u00f3 instant\u00e1neamente.
\nSe dice, aunque puede ser solo una leyenda, que no cay\u00f3 accidentalmente, sino que se arroj\u00f3 desde la cima porque estaba decepcionado por la ausencia del Rey (Vittorio Emanuele II) el d\u00eda de la inauguraci\u00f3n. En realidad, el rey que viv\u00eda en N\u00e1poles y estaba muy enfermo no pudo notificar a Mengoni, por lo que todos consideraron que no apreciaban la magn\u00edfica estructura en la que, \u00a1piensen, m\u00e1s de 1,000 trabajadores trabajaban todos los d\u00edas! Sin embargo, no te preocupes por eso, y sigue admirando las decoraciones en el piso. \u00bfPuedes ver? Tambi\u00e9n hay un toro, el s\u00edmbolo de la ciudad de Tur\u00edn. Otra leyenda dice que si logras hacer tres vueltas completas manteniendo solo tu pie derecho (el tal\u00f3n, en realidad) en las partes privadas del toro, \u00a1tendr\u00e1s buena suerte! Durante casi 100 a\u00f1os, la galer\u00eda de Mil\u00e1n fue llamada el sal\u00f3n de la ciudad porque fue all\u00ed donde la gente se reuni\u00f3 para hablar sobre pol\u00edtica y negocios, o simplemente para tener una natter.
\nEn la Segunda Guerra Mundial, las bombas destruyeron gran parte de la galer\u00eda, pero fue reconstruida exactamente igual.
