Considerata anello di congiunzione tra il lago di Como e la Valtellina, Morbegno manifesta tutta la sua vivacit\u00e0 in eventi conosciuti come Morbegno in Cantina e la Mostra del Bitto.Sin dalla prima met\u00e0 del XIV secolo, la sua posizione favor\u00ec scambi e contatti con le comunit\u00e0 del comasco, della pianura padana e della bergamasca, attraverso il Passo S. Marco. Tutt’ora \u00e8 caratterizzata da un intenso via vai. Ricca di storia e arte, la cittadina \u00e8 divisa in due dal torrente Bitto che scende dalla Valgerola ed \u00e8 famosa, con le valli laterali, per essere la patria del famosissimo formaggio Bitto, protagonista dell\u2019annuale evento, la Mostra del Bitto.<\/p>\n
Notevole \u00e8 pure il profilo culturale dell’abitato della bassa Valtellina che diede i natali al pittore Pietro Romegialli (1738-1799) e all\u2019economista e politico Ezio Vanoni (1903-1956).Da vedere la collegiata di S. Giovanni Battista (XVIsec.), con tele dei Ligari, del Petrini, la chiesa sconsacrata di S. Antonio, ora auditorium, il Santuario dell\u2019Assunta,consacrato nel 1506, la chiesa di S.
