Il Castello di Rivalta, o \u201cRipa Alta\u201d, sorge all\u2019imbocco della\u00a0Val Trebbia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lo si scorge alla destra della SS45, paradiso dei motociclisti, quando prima di Rivergaro\u00a0inizia a salire verso Bobbio e il Penice per poi tuffarsi verso Genova e il mare.<\/p>\n

Questo maniero per\u00f2 vanta origine lontane, legate proprio all\u2019importanza storica del fiume e della valle del Trebbia. La zona\u00a0fu\u00a0scenario di\u00a0una delle pagine pi\u00f9 sanguinose della seconda guerra punica\u00a0(III sec a.c.). Qui l\u2019esercito romano si scontr\u00f2 con quello cartaginese comandato da\u00a0Annibale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0Rivalta infatti, ubicata in posizione strategica, esisteva gi\u00e0 allora una torre di avvistamento o\u00a0un piccolo accampamento da marcia fortificato.<\/p>\n

The Castle of Rivalta<\/strong>, or “Ripa Alta”, rises at the entrance of the Val Trebbia.<\/p>\n

You can see it on the right of the SS45, a paradise for motorcyclists, when before Rivergaro it begins to climb towards Bobbio and the Penice and then dive into Genoa and the sea.<\/p>\n

This manor, however, boasts distant origins, linked to the historical importance of the river and the Trebbia valley. The area was the scene of one of the bloodiest pages of the Second Punic War (III century BC). Here the Roman army clashed with the Carthaginian one commanded by Hannibal.<\/p>\n

In fact, in Rivalta, located in a strategic position, there was already a sighting tower or a small fortified march camp.<\/p>\n

After the collapse of the Roman Empire and the barbarian invasion of the Italian peninsula Rivalta became territory before the Longobards, then the Franks.<\/p>\n

La cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta e Santa Giustina<\/strong> \u00e8 il principale luogo di culto cattolico di Piacenza, chiesa madre dell’omonima diocesi. Ha la dignit\u00e0 di basilica minore.<\/p>\n

La cattedrale di Piacenza, importante esempio di architettura romanica in Italia, \u00e8 stata costruita tra l’anno 1122 e il 1233. Tra il 1122 e il 1160 vennero costruite l’area absidale, con la cripta, il transetto e le navate laterali. La facciata e la cupola, invece, furono terminati successivamente. La costruzione del campanile si protrasse sino al 1333 e, nel 1341, venne coronato da una scultura in rame dorato raffigurante un angelo, detta Angil dal Dom.<\/p>\n

Nei secoli successivi, la chiesa venne arricchita con decorazioni, cappelle e altari. The cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and Santa Giustina<\/strong> is the main Catholic place of worship in Piacenza, the mother church of the homonymous diocese. He has the dignity of a minor basilica.<\/p>\n

The cathedral of Piacenza, an important example of Romanesque architecture in Italy, was built between 1122 and 1233. Between 1122 and 1160 the apse area was built, with the crypt, the transept and the side aisles. The fa\u00e7ade and the dome, however, were finished later. The construction of the bell tower continued until 1333 and, in 1341, was crowned by a gilded copper sculpture depicting an angel, called Angil dal Dom.<\/p>\n

In the following centuries, the church was enriched with decorations, chapels and altars. La cerchia Farnesiana \u00e8 la cinta bastionata cinquecentesca che cingeva completamente l’abitato cittadino. Percorrendo via XXI Aprile, si nota un lungo tratto delle mura, insieme al vallo circostante dove attualmente si svolgono manifestazioni sportive ed eventi musicali. E’ piacevole la passeggiata che da via Maculani costeggia le mura lungo un pittoresco viale<\/p>\n

alberato fino a giungere ad ammirare la basilica di S.Maria di Campagna. The Mura Farnesiane is the defensive wall founded in the 16th century that enclosed the city. Walking along Via XXI Aprile you can see a long stretch of this wall, together with the surrounding ditch that now hosts sport and music events. It is also very relaxing to take a walk along Via Maculani, which runs close to the wall<\/p>\n

on an alley shaded with trees, until you reach the beautiful Santa Maria di Campagna basilica.
