Questo fu costruito dal <strong>Vignola<\/strong> con la conca di navigazione in forma ellittica nel 1548 e conserva le manovre della Riva Calzoni. Nei pressi sono visibili lo specchio d\u2019acqua detto \u201cil Pelago\u201d, alimentato da una derivazione del canale, e la fontana della Gabella Grossa, un tempo utilizzata dai barcaioli. L\u2019abitazione del custode conserva una ricca raccolta di strumenti della navigazione sui canali, conservata dall\u2019Associazione \u201cL\u2019Oasi dei Saperi\u201d. Il termine \u201cBattiferro\u201d fa riferimento ad un antico opificio adibito alla battitura del ferro e del rame. The word \u201cBattiferro\u201d comes from an old iron and copper beating works. On the right bank of the canal there are the remains of a rice husker and a brick kiln.
