The building is located in the homonymous square, Piazza San Francesco, built on a steep land east.\r\nThe facade, in masonry of square blocks of stone, is in hut and opened by an architraved portal surmounted by an archival of simple shapes, in which a semicircular lunette in terracotta with San Francesco and other figures is inscribed. In the upper part of the facade there is a mullioned window in modern forms, dating back to the twentieth century.\r\nOn the right of the building stands a massive square bell tower, from the seventeenth -century era, in which three orders of mullioned windows open, divided horizontally through the cooked Marcapian frames. It is decorated with medieval sculptural inserts including the bas -relief \"\"Christ who supports the world\"\". The planimetric configuration is with a single rectangular nave, with a transept consisting of two side chapels with altars.\r\nInside, very little remains of the original medieval structure, as the building underwent a radical restoration between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, which conferred the environment the sumptuous aspect in the seventy seventy interventions. The Baroque atmosphere is enhanced by the oval paintings of Jacopo Danielli, a local artist, depicting the Saints Gaetano, Francesca Romana, Giuseppe and Andrea - dating back to 1731 - and from the eighteenth -century painting positioned above the major altar depicting the \"\"Madonna and Child and Santi \u201d, from Pisan school.\r\nIn the right transept, an nineteenth -century altar dedicated to San Francesco is located, together with a marble statue of the saint. In the left transept, however, an altar dated 30 July 1654 dedicated by the Confraternity of the Madonna del Carmine to Sant'Antonio da Padova is located. To make room for the statue of Sant'Antonio, the painting \"\"The Annunciation\"\" of Piero Confortini, made in 1606, was moved to the parish church of Buti.
