La marina prende il nome dalla torre costiera pi\u00f9 grande della Sardegna. Inizialmente chiamata torre del \u201cPuerto de Oristan\u201d, la costruzione inizi\u00f2 nel 1542 e ultimata solamente dopo il 1555 grazie alle entrate legate al diritto di ancoraggio. Solo in et\u00e0 sabauda assunse la denominazione attuale: \u201cGrande de Oristan\u201d, Torre d\u2019Oristano e Gran Torre.\r\n\u00c8 la torre costiera pi\u00f9 grande in Sardegna, poich\u00e9 pensata gi\u00e0 in origine come \u201ctorre de armas\u201d, cio\u00e8 come torre \u201cgagliarda\u201d, atta alla difesa pesante. Pur iniziato nella prima met\u00e0 del \u2018500, il torrione \u00e8 di concezione aragonese, come testimoniano i caratteri dell\u2019architettura di transizione: dalla garitta in muratura sulla porta d\u2019ingresso alla posizione delle bocche da fuoco. \u00c8 dotata di cannoniere superiori in barbetta (la batteria scoperta), e di troniere inferiori, le feritoie, posizionate in casamatta (la camera coperta a prova di bomba).\r\nDi forma cilindrica con un diametro di oltre 20 m, si sviluppa su due livelli: il primo \u00e8 a circa 8 m. Dal terreno, destinato quasi tutto a una grande camera, voltata, dove avevano posizione quattro grossi pezzi d\u2019artiglieria, puntati in varie direzioni, sia verso il fiume che verso il mare. Il piano superiore \u00e8 circoscritto a forma di ballatoio per contenere, attraverso varie troniere, altre armi da fuoco manovrabili manualmente.\r\n","rilevanza_stile_romanico":"","come_arrivare":""},"geometry":{"type":"Point","coordinates":[8.5162416100502,39.906717955068]}}
