Originariamente la propriet\u00e0 fu dei pisani Venuleii, una famiglia consolare romana di origine etrusc; gli attuali proprietari l&#8217;acquistarono nel 1536 dagli Spini di Firenze, che vi avevano intrapreso dei lavori fin dalla prima met\u00e0 del XV secolo. Esempio di quel vigore economico che invest\u00ec l&#8217;aristocrazia pisana nel XVI secolo, la villa di Corliano nel 1616 veniva descrita dal fiorentino Vincenzo Pitti come &#8220;il pi\u00f9 bel palazzo che sia d&#8217;intorno a Pisa&#8221;. Originally the property belonged to the Venulei family from Pisa, a family of ancient Etruscan origin; the current owners bought the compound in 1536 from the Spini family of Florence, who had undertaken some works starting from the first half of the fifteenth century. The complex is an example of the economic force of\u00a0 the Pisan aristocracy in the sixteenth century;\u00a0 in 1616 the Florentine Vincenzo Pitti described the villa Corliano as &#8220;the most beautiful building around Pisa&#8221;.
