La singolarit\u00e0 di questa costruzione consiste nell\u2019aver abbinato caratteristiche strutturali monastiche, come la pianta a croce commissa, a motivi decorativi ispirati alla cattadrale pisana, come le losanghe.<\/p>\n<p>La chiesa \u00e8 affiancata da un imponente torre campanaria, ad essa preesistente e un tempo funzionante come torre di controllo, e da una villa ottocentesca, che ha sostituito le precedenti strutture monastiche.<\/p>\n<p>Abbattuto nel secondo conflitto mondiale, il campanile \u00e8 stato in parte ricostruito nelle stesse forme su progetto del soprintendente Piero Sanpaolesi.
