{"type":"Feature","properties":{"id":8017,"name":"Orto e Museo Botanico di Pisa","description":"<h4>L\u2019Orto botanico \u00e8 stato fondato nel 1543-1544 da Luca Ghini (1490-1556), naturalista, medico e botanico imolese: si tratta del primo Orto botanico universitario del mondo.<\/h4>\n<p>Costruito\u00a0originariamente sulle rive del fiume Arno, fu trasferito nell\u2019attuale sede nel 1591 e poi ampliato\u00a0progressivamente fino all\u2019attuale estensione di 3 ettari. Della originale disposizione oggi rimangono\u00a0sei grandi vasche di arenaria. Ospita piante dei 5 continenti: le succulente dei deserti africani e\u00a0americani; le piante aromatiche della macchia mediterranea; le specie delle paludi toscane;\u00a0numerosi alberi secolari e tante altre. L\u2019Orto contribuisce alla didattica universitaria, alla ricerca\u00a0scientifica, alla conservazione della biodiversit\u00e0; promuove attivit\u00e0 didattiche e divulgative rivolte\u00a0alle classi scolastiche e al pubblico.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il Museo Botanico<\/strong><br \/>\nIl Museo botanico \u00e8 l\u2019erede dell\u2019antica Galleria, istituita nel 1591 dal Granduca di Toscana\u00a0Ferdinando I de\u2019 Medici per raccogliervi le \u201copere della natura\u201d. Vi erano associati uno studio di\u00a0pittura, dove un miniatore eseguiva dal vero illustrazioni botaniche, e una fonderia per la\u00a0preparazione dei medicamenti. Di questo primo periodo si conservano oggi la Quadreria, composta\u00a0di ritratti seicenteschi di illustri botanici, il Portone monumentale dell\u2019entrata alla Galleria e lo\u00a0\u201cStudiolo\u201d per i semi dell\u2019Orto botanico. Il Museo conserva inoltre oggetti legati all\u2019insegnamento\u00a0della botanica universitaria dalla fine del Settecento. Alcuni sono vere opere d\u2019arte, come i modelli\u00a0botanici in cera e in gesso e le tavole didattiche acquarellate (XIX sec.). Altre raccolte sono i\u00a0campioni vegetali in vitro, la xiloteca, i modelli didattici, gli strumenti della botanica e le collezioni\u00a0paleobotaniche. Infine, il Museo conserva gli Erbari, insostituibili strumenti di lavoro per i\u00a0ricercatori di tutto il mondo. The garden contributes to University didactics, scientific research, conservation of biodiversity and promotes educational and didactic activities oriented to school classes and to the general public.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Botanic Museum<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Botanic Museum is the heir of the ancient Gallery, established in 1591 by the Gran duke of Tuscany Ferdinand I de Medici to gather \u201cworks of Nature\u201d. It was associated with a painting school, where a miniaturist made botanical illustrations from reality, and with a foundry for the preparation of medicaments. The \u201cQuadreria\u201d(Painting gallery) belongs to that period. It was composed by seventeen hundreds portraits of famous botanists. Moreover the museum has conserved objects linked to the teaching of botany since the end of Seventeen hundreds. Some of them are real art works, such as wax and plaster botanical examples and didactic wood panels made with water painting. Other collections are vegetable examples in vitro, the xilotec, the didactic examples, the botanic instruments and the paleobotanic collections. Finally, the museum conserves the \u201cHerbarium\u201d, unique work tools for researchers all over the world.
