Epidote + quartz rock in a small, highly metasomatized rock unit in the Sierra Estrella Mountains. This unit has been mapped as a marble within the more pervasive gneiss of the Sierra Estrella, but extensive metasomatism has left dominantly calc-silicate rock comprised of grossular-andradite solid solution garnets, epidote, and wollastonite, among other minerals. Metasomatism was presumably due to intrusion of nearby pegmatites.
