(Dolomites, Southern Alps)","description":"<p>A big, complex fold crosscut by two transversal valleys (San Nicol\u00f2 V. and Contrin V.) dips under the Marmolada massif. Here&#8217;s the section in between with the central-upper part removed by erosion. The axial surface &#8211; striking ENE-WSW \u2013 is approximately normal to the picture&#8217;s plane and runs trough the salt diapir in the center.
