Nelle antiche cave di Giustino veniva estratto il quarzo. Queste cave conobbero il periodo di maggior sfruttamento nell\u2019800. All’estrazione del quarzo si aggiungeva l\u2019industria vetraria che era molto diffusa all’epoca nelle Giudicarie. La risorsa del quarzo si univa all\u2019abbondanza di acqua per far andare le macine e di foreste per alimentare le fornaci. Quartz was mined in the ancient quarries of Giustino. These quarries knew the period of greatest exploitation in the 1800s. The quartz was used in the glass industry which was very widespread at the time in the Giudicarie valleys. There was abundance of quartz together with the water to move millstones and wood to feed furnaces.
