Durante il primo Conflitto Mondiale (1915-18) fu infatti teatro degli aspri combattimenti tra gli Alpini e i Kaiserjeger (le truppe di montagna austroungariche). Nel Gruppo dell\u2019Adamello Presanella fu combattuta quella che \u00e8 stata definita la \u201cGuerra Bianca\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Il Corno di Cavento era un importante caposaldo avanzato austroungarico collegato alle retrovie da un ardito sistema di fortificazioni e gallerie scavate nel ghiaccio. Ancora oggi sono visibili le tracce delle vecchie postazioni militari arroccate sul Corno.<\/p>\n<p>Fu conquistato nel giugno 1917 dagli Alpini in seguito all\u2019attacco delle truppe italiane. Anticipato da colpi del cannone detto \u201cIppopotamo\u201d posizionato dagli Alpini a 3200 m di Cresta Croce, sopra il Passo della Lobbia. Il cannone, ancora presente sulla Cresta, e le postazioni del Cavento sono alcuni dei molti residuati bellici che, dopo un secolo da quella immane tragedia, riaffiorano dal ghiaccio o sono rimasti abbandonati sulle vette. Even today the traces of the old military posts perched on the Horn are visible.<\/p>\n<p>It was conquered in June 1917 by the Alpini following the attack of Italian troops. Anticipated by shots of the cannon called &#8220;Hippopotamus&#8221; positioned by the Alpini at Cresta Croce, 3200 m, above the Passo Lobbia. The cannon, still present on the ridge, and the trenches are some remnants of war that, after a century from that huge tragedy, resurface from the ice or were abandoned on the peaks. Es handelt sich um einen Gipfel auf 3402 m, welcher zur N-S Kette mit dem 3462 Meter hohen Car\u00e9 Alto in der Adamello Gruppe geh\u00f6rt.<\/p>\n<p>Die gro\u00dfe Bedeutung dieses Gipfels liegt in seiner historischen Bedeutung. W\u00e4hrend des Ersten Weltkriegs (1915-18) war er Schauplatz der harten K\u00e4mpfe zwischen Alpini und Kaiserj\u00e4ger (die \u00f6sterreich-ungarischen alpinen Truppen). In der Adamello Presanella Gruppe wurde der Kampf ausgetragen, der als &#8220;Guerra Bianca&#8221; (Wei\u00dfer Krieg) definiert wurde.<\/p>\n<p>Das Horn von Cavento war eine wichtige \u00f6sterreich-ungarische Festung, welche durch ein Netz aus Befestigungen und Tunnels im Gletscher verbunden wurde. Noch heute findet man Spuren der alten Milit\u00e4rposten im Fels.<\/p>\n<p>Im Juni 1917 wurde die Festung nach einem Angriff der italienischen Truppen von den Alpini eingenommen. Vorher wurde sie von der Kanone &#8220;Ippopotamo&#8221; (Nilpferd) getroffen, welche von den Alpini auf 3200 m auf der Cresta Croce oberhalb des Passo della Lobbiana positioniert worden war. Die Kanone, welche immer noch auf der Cresta steht, sowie die POsten des Cavento sind einige der \u00fcbriggebliebenen Relikte, welche auch ein Jahrhundert nach dieser immensen Trag\u00f6die noch verlassen im Eis und auf den Gipfeln stehen. Hin und wieder gibt das Eis \u00dcberreste von Gefallenen zur\u00fcck, die f\u00fcr viele Jahre im Bauch des Gletschers ruhen.<\/p>\n<p>Es handelt sich um unwiderlegbare Spuren, die von Leid, Mut, Beharrlichkeit und Opfer zeugen; davon, dass Milliarden von Menschen gezwungen waren, in einem absurden Krieg unter extremsten Bedingungen gegeneinander zu k\u00e4mpfen.
