Il ghiacciaio della Lobbia presenta le caratteristiche di ghiacciaio \u201cscandinavo\u201d cio\u00e8 superficie pianeggiante con lingue vallive che scendono verso la Val Genova e la Valle di Fumo. Queste lingue hanno subito pesanti ritiri dai primi dell\u2019800, circa 2000 m, perdendo la parte che scende verso valle. E\u2019 uno dei ghiacciai oggetto di monitoraggio nel territorio del Parco.<\/p>\n

Nonostante a prima vista appaia immobilizzato dal gelo, il paesaggio glaciale \u00e8 in realt\u00e0 in continuo movimento e in costante evoluzione. Ancor pi\u00f9 oggi, a causa dei cambiamenti climatici che hanno innescato il ritiro inesorabile e rapidissimo delle fronti glaciali.<\/p>\n

Alcuni fra i pi\u00f9 grandi ghiacciai hanno perso, in poco pi\u00f9 di 40 anni, fino al 42% della loro superficie. Per altri le riduzioni sono state di minore entit\u00e0, come per il Ghiacciaio dell\u2019Adamello.<\/p>\n

Gli studi sui ghiacciai dell\u2019Adamello si sono sviluppati con una certa sistematicit\u00e0 a partire dagli anni \u201820 del secolo scorso. Gi\u00e0 dal 1865 alcuni di essi furono accuratamente rappresentati in una dettagliata carta realizzata dal Payer, primo conquistatore della Cima dell\u2019Adamello, nonch\u00e9 attento rilevatore glaciologico. Negli anni successivi alcune testimonianze scritte ci regalano l\u2019aspetto del paesaggio glaciale del passato. Ecco cosa scrisse ad esempio W.D. Freshfiled (1875).<\/p>\n

\u201cIl vasto nevaio centrale alimenta ghiacciai che scendono da ogni lato. Le vette pi\u00f9 alte, come il Car\u00e8 Alto e l\u2019Adamello, sono solo piccole elevazioni sul bordo dell\u2019altopiano. Viste da vicino sembrano quasi degli scogli ghiacciati, ma da lontano appaiono come nobilissime montagne che precipitano con grandi pareti racchiuse fra due ghiacciai sulle selvagge valli che salgono fino ai loro piedi. Immaginate un grande lenzuolo bianco non uniformemente steso sopra una tavola, e i suoi scintillanti bordi pendenti qua e l\u00e0 fra neri e massicci contrafforti\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Lobbia glacier presents the characteristics of the “Scandinavian” glacier, ie a flat surface with ice tongues descending towards the Genova valley and the Fumo valley. These tongues \u200b\u200bhave withdrawn heavily since early 1800, about 2000m, losing the lower part. It is one of the glaciers monitored in the Park territory.<\/p>\n
Although at first glance it seems immobilized by frost, its landscape is actually in continuous movement and in constant evolution. Even more so today, due to the climatic changes that triggered the inexorable and very rapid withdrawal of the glacial front.<\/p>\n
Some of the largest glaciers have lost, in little more than 40 years, up to 42% of their surface. For others the reductions have been smaller, as for the Adamello Glacier.<\/p>\n
Studies on the Adamello glaciers have developed with a systematic approach since the 1920s. Yet\u00a0 in 1865 some were accurately represented in a detailed map made by Payer, the first to reach the Cima dell’Adamello as well as a careful glaciological expert. In the following years, some written testimonies describe the glacial landscape of the past. For example, here is what W.D. Freshfiled wrote (1875).<\/p>\n
“The vast central snowfield feeds glaciers that descend from each side. The highest peaks, like the Car\u00e8 Alto and the Adamello, are only small elevations on the edge of the plateau. From close up they look like icy rocks, but from a distance they look like very noble mountains that fall with large walls enclosed between two glaciers on the wild valleys that rise up to their feet. Imagine a large white sheet not uniformly spread over a table, and its shimmering edges hanging here and there between black and massive buttresses ”<\/p>\n

Der Gletscher von Lobbia zeigt alle Eigenschaften eines “skandinavischen” Gletschers: glatte flache Oberfl\u00e4chen und eine Wall-f\u00f6rmige Zunge Richtung Genova Tal und Valle di Fumo. Diese Zungen haben seit dem fr\u00fchen 19. Jahrhundert etwa 2000 m\u00a0 eingeb\u00fc\u00dft und dadurch den Gro\u00dfteil verloren, der Richtung Tal abf\u00e4llt. Obwohl es auf den ersten Blick so aussieht, als w\u00e4re das Eis starr und unbeweglich, ist das Gletschertal in Wahrheit in steter Bewegung und unterliegt konstanter Ver\u00e4nderung. Die Klimaver\u00e4nderung l\u00f6st heute mehr denn je den unaufhaltsamen\u00a0 und schnellen R\u00fcckgang der Gletscherfronten aus.<\/p>\n
Einige der gr\u00f6\u00dften Gletscher haben in knapp mehr als 40 Jahren bis zu 42% der Oberfl\u00e4che verloren. Bei anderen waren die Ver\u00e4nderungen kleiner, etwa beim Adamello Gletscher.<\/p>\n
Die Studien der Gletscher vom Adamello wurden mit einer gewissen Systematik durchgef\u00fchrt, beginnend mit den 20er Jahren des vergangenen Jahrhudnerts. Bereits seit 1865 wurden einige von ihnen penibel in einer detaillierten Karte eingetragen, die von Payer – dem Erstbesteiger des Adamello Gipfels und Glaziologen – erstellt wurde. In den Folgejahren dienen uns geschriebene Worte als Zeitzeugen und geben uns einen Einblick in die Gletschert\u00e4ler der Vergangenheit, etwa von W.D. Freshfiled (1875).<\/p>\n
“Das gigantische zentrale Schneefeld speist\u00a0 die Gletscher, die auf allen Seiten abfallen. Die h\u00f6chsten Gipfel, der Car\u00e8 Alto und der Adamello, stellen auf diesem Hochplateau lediglich kleine Erhebungen dar. Aus der N\u00e4he betrachtet erkennt man eisige Felsen, aus der Ferne scheinen sie majest\u00e4tische Berge zu sein, die mit ihren W\u00e4nden zwischen zwei Gletschern in kargen T\u00e4lern eingeschlossen sind. Stellen Sie sich ein gro\u00dfes wei\u00dfes Leintuch vor, das unregelm\u00e4\u00dfig auf einen Tisch gelegt wird und seine schillernden R\u00e4ndern h\u00e4ngen hier und dort zwischen schwarzen, massiven Strebepfeilern.”<\/em><\/p>\n
