Il lago Vedretta \u00e8 abbastanza esteso e dalla forma allungata, lungo 705 m e largo 275 metri. Ci appare di un colore azzurro intenso ma torbido, a causa del limo del ghiacciaio in sospensione. E’ circondato da rocce tonalitiche con evidenti segni di modellamento glaciale. A monte nella zona dell\u2019immissario si trova un ampio delta sabbioso, creatosi in seguito alla deposizione dei fini limi glaciali. In questo ambiente severo, che appare molto ostile alle forme di vita, recenti ricerche hanno scoperto minuscoli organismi. Questi riescono a sopravvivere negli interstizi tra le particelle del sedimento.<\/p>\n

Lake Vedretta is quite extended and long, 705 m long and 275 m wide. It appears of an intense but turbid blue color, due to the silt of the suspended glacier. It is surrounded by tonalite rocks with obvious signs of glacial modeling. Upstream in the area of the inlet there is a large sandy delta, created by the deposition of glacial silts. In this harsh environment, which appears very hostile to life forms, recent research has discovered tiny organisms. These manage to survive in the interstices between the sediment particles.<\/p>\n

Der Vedretta-See ist recht gro\u00df, er erreicht eine L\u00e4nge von 705 und eine Breite von 275 Metern. Er erscheint in einer intensiven hellblauen Farbe, die wegen des Schlamms der schmelzenden Gletscher tr\u00fcb wirkt. Er ist von Tonalit-Felsen umgeben, welche augenscheinlich von den Gletschern geformt wurden. Bergw\u00e4rts, im Bereich des Zuflusses befindet sich ein beachtliches Delta aus Sand, das wiederum in Folge der Ablagerungen von Gletscherschlamm entstand. In dieser kargen und rauhen, nahezu lebensfeindlichen Landschaft haben j\u00fcngste Untersuchungen Kleinstlebewesen nachgewiesen. Diese schaffen es, in den kleinen Zwischenr\u00e4umen zwischen den Sediment-Partikeln zu \u00fcberleben.<\/p>\n
Auch der Vedretta-See, der uns abgeschieden und fern von jeglichem menschlichen Eingriff erscheint, war Teil eines Projektes zur hydroelektrischen Nutzung der Seen vom Nambrone Tal in den 60er Jahren.<\/p>\n
