Le origini di Badia Prataglia, il pi\u00f9 importante centro abitato del Parco, risalgono al alcuni anni prima del Mille. L\u2019attuale paese deve il suo nome ad una badia fondata dai Benedettini alla fine del X secolo ed in seguito passata ai Camaldolesi. Il paese nacque dall\u2019aggregazione di alcune case attorno alla chiesa, unica parte rimasta dell\u2019antica abbazia. L\u2019odierna parrocchia conserva una cripta con tracce dell\u2019origine romanica. La lavorazione artigiana del legno, diffusa in passato in tutto il Casentino, ha mantenuto qui grandi tradizioni. The origins of Badia Prataglia, the most important village of the park, is dating back to a few years before year thousand. The current town owes its name to an abbey founded by the Benedictines at the end of the tenth century and later passed on to the Camaldolese. The village was born from the aggregation of some houses around the church, the only remaining part of the ancient abbey. Today’s parish preserves a crypt with traces of Romanesque origin. The artisan woodworking, widespread in the past throughout the Casentino, has maintained great traditions here.
