Superbo scoglio roccioso a forma trapezioidale che si erge da un mare di argille, il Monte della Verna \u00e8 prima di tutto un luogo sacro, indissolubilmente legato alla memoria di San Francesco, poi \u00e8 un caposaldo di cultura e di arte, ma riserva anche opportunit\u00e0 uniche per l’escursionista. Di fatto le tre cose si possono sovrapporre: il pi\u00f9 bell’accesso per il Santuario e per una visita (sia essa religiosa oppure storico-artistico-culturale, con tutte le sfumature possibili) resta quello a piedi, partendo dal paese di Chiusi. Del resto fino al 1926, anno di apertura della carrozzabile, era cos\u00ec per amore o per forza e fino ad allora intere generazioni di pellegrini avevano asceso il monte come Francesco e compagni, cio\u00e8 a piedi. Chiusi de La Verna – La Beccia – La Verna – Penna Mount – Fondo della Melosa – Chiusi de La Verna Superb trapezoidal-shaped rocky cliff that rises from a sea of \u200b\u200bclay, Verna Mount is first of all a sacred place, inextricably linked to the memory of San Francesco, then it is a cornerstone of culture and art, but also reserves unique opportunities for the hiker. In fact, the three things can overlap: the most beautiful access to the Sanctuary and for a visit (be it religious or historical-artistic-cultural, with all the possible nuances) remains on foot, starting from the town of Chiusi. After all, until 1926, the year the carriage was opened, it was like that for love or strength and until then entire generations of pilgrims had ascended the mountain like Francesco and his companions, that is, on foot.
