Ideale per escursionisti, ciclisti, amanti della natura ed in generale per chiunque voglia staccare dal turbinio della vita moderna e desideri ritornare alla natura immergendosi nella selvaggia Valle di Pietrapazza. L\u2019edificio \u00e8 posto su di un altopiano che si trova alla quota di 1.030 m e il paesaggio circostante \u00e8 caratterizzato da aree aperte adibite a pascolo. All\u2019interno della struttura sono presenti 8 posti letto di cui 4 in letti in legno e 4 su brande da campo e un salone con camino, tavolo, panche e un ripostiglio per il legname di piccole dimensioni. The ‘San Paolo in Alpe’ shelter, recently built inside an ancient housing structure, is divided into two parts, one always open and available as an emergency bivouac, the other used as a managed refuge which can be accessed through reservation. Gestisce Casa Sant\u2019Agostino dal 2017 insieme alla Parrocchia di Corniolo (che ne \u00e8 la proprietaria). Le possibilit\u00e0 educative e aggregative di questo luogo sono davvero tante. Con la collaborazione ed il sostegno della comunit\u00e0 locale, Casa Sant\u2019Agostino coltiva la sua vocazione ad essere luogo di crescita, educazione e cura per bambini, giovani, famiglie, disabili e anziani.<\/p>\n

Casa Sant\u2019Agostino is a house within the National Park from 5 km to Corniolo. It is rich in history and meaning for the local community,besides it was a church which has hosted over time the children of many associations in their experiences to discover nature. Il rifugio del Poggio Cavallaro \u00e8 una struttura a disposizione degli amanti della natura e delle escursioni nel Parco. E\u2019 possibile soggiornarvi previa prenotazione. Il rifugio \u00e8 raggiungibile dalla strada provinciale (direzione Firenze) poco dopo localit\u00e0 Giumella, imboccando il sentiero 319 salendo per circa 3.5 km. Oppure dal valico Manzo (strada che collega Premilcuore a Portico di Romagna) prendendo la strada forestale (chiusa al transito ) percorrendo circa 5.5 km. In entrambi i casi l\u2019escursione \u00e8 piacevole e il paesaggio incantevole. Il rifugio dispone di sala da pranzo con camino, cucina con gas gpl, bagno con acqua piovana in cisterna interrata e due camere con 12 posti su letti a castello. The Poggio Cavallaro refuge is a structure available to nature lovers and excursions in the park. It is possible to stay there by booking. The refuge can be reached from the provincial road (towards Florence) shortly after Giumella, taking path 319 going up for about 3.5 km. Another way is from the Manzo pass (road that connects Premilcuore to Portico di Romagna) taking the forest road (closed to transit) covering about 5.5 km. In both cases the excursion is pleasant and the landscape enchanting. The refuge has a dining room with fireplace, kitchen with LPG gas, bathroom with rainwater in an underground cistern and two bedrooms with 12 places on bunk beds. The structure, a former elementary school in the small center, has recently been renovated, including the furnishings, to be used as a hiking refuge, with a lounge at the entrance, two 13 and 10 bed dorms with bunk beds and two bathrooms (one with 3 toilets and shower, large sink with 4 taps), one of which for the disabled. La struttura che ha origini molto antiche in quanto “Stalla Granducale”, si trova a 1460 s.l.m. Chiamata anche Colonia della Burraia, perch\u00e9 adibita a colonia per soggiorno montano negli anni ’50, ha subito diverse ristrutturazioni, conservando comunque molte delle caratteristiche originali. Il Rifugio \u00e8 situato al limite di una faggeta, lungo il percorso 00 GEA CT che dal Passo della Calla raggiunge il Monte Falterona, dove ha origine il fiume Arno. Il Casone della Burraia \u00e8 gestito dallo Sci Club Stia dal 1975 che lo utilizza per i propri scopi sociali. The structure that has very ancient origins as “Grand Ducal stable”, is located at 1460 s.l.m. Also called Colonia della Burraia, because it was used as a colony for mountain stays in the 1950s, it has undergone several renovations, while retaining many of the original features. The refuge is located on the edge of a beech forest, along the 00 GEA CT route that from the Calla Pass reaches Monte Falterona, where the Arno river originates. Il Casone della Burraia has been managed by the Sci Club Stia since 1975 which uses it for its social purposes.
