Il toponimo deriva dalla presenza di un antico ponte a basse arcate piedi (passaggio obbligato verso le<strong> pievi di Soliera e Venelia<\/strong>), che a sua volta deve il nome a quello di un personaggio, Boso o Bosio, forse parte della nobile famiglia \u2013 i <strong>Bosi della Verrucola<\/strong> \u2013 che vollero probabilmente la costruzione di un castello in questa localit\u00e0. Nella piazza del borgo sorge il <strong>Castello<\/strong> (risalente al XVII secolo), che in passato \u00e8 stato una <strong>raffinata residenza signorile<\/strong>, quindi un seminario, e infine anche sede di una scuola media (mentre oggi ospita delle residenze di lusso), e il cui aspetto lascia tuttora intuire un passato di possente struttura militare.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<div class=\"container-fluid\">\n<div class=\"row \">\n<div class=\"container \">\n<div class=\"slim-container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-xs-12\">\n<section class=\"section-block row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-9 col-xs-12 section-left text-block\">\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\" data-reveal-effect=\"fade_in\">\n<div class=\"animated-links\">\n<p>La chiesa parrocchiale, in stile barocco, fu costruita per volont\u00e0 di<strong> Ferdinando Malaspina<\/strong> in sostituzione del vecchio oratorio. Davanti, a ridosso della strada, c\u2019\u00e8 il <strong>Castello di Poderetto<\/strong>, voluto dai Malaspina di Podenzana. Dal borgo, passando sotto la \u201cvota\u201d (volta) si arriva all\u2019<strong>antico mulino<\/strong>, le cui macine, ora inattive sono disposte all\u2019intorno. Sul fiume si pu\u00f2 osservare quel che resta di una antica cartiera. In the hamlet&#8217;s piazza you\u2019ll find the beautiful 17th-century <strong>castle <\/strong>that once functioned as a noble residence. It was later transformed into a seminary and eventually a middle school, while today it contains luxury homes. Its current appearance still flaunts its history as an imposing military structure.<\/p>\n<p>The Baroque-style parish church was built by order of <strong>Ferdinando Malaspina<\/strong>, a structure that replaced the old oratory. Across the street you\u2019ll find the <strong>Poderetto Castle<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>built by the Malaspina di Podenzana family. From town, passing under the \u201cvota\u201d (vault) check out the\u00a0<strong>age-old mill<\/strong>, a structure still boasting inactive millstones. And be sure to head to riverbank where you\u2019ll find the remains of an old paper mill.
