Il territorio stazzemese fu abitato fin dall’et\u00e0 del ferro e poi dagli etruschi come testimoniano dei ritrovamenti di sepolture preromane: il primo accenno di queste popolazioni si ha attorno all’800 a.C.\u00a0 dislocati nella Versilia antica, la cosiddetta “Wasser” con pi\u00f9 precisione a Stazzema, al tempo “Stathieme”. Fu abitato in seguito da trib\u00f9 di\u00a0 Liguri Apuani.<\/p>\n
Molti dei nomi delle frazioni e localit\u00e0 di Stazzema ricordano la vocazione all’ estrazione di questo territorio: Il paese di Gallena prende il nome dalla galena argentifera estratta in zona. Due localit\u00e0 sono chiamate \u201cargentiera\u201d: a Sant’Anna e vicino a Ruosina di Seravezza. Troviamo inoltre anche le localit\u00e0 di Calcaferro e di Buca della Vena dove veniva estratto il minerale di ferro<\/p>\n
Oggi Stazzema \u00e8 un piccolo borgo, che merita una visita per passeggiare lungo i vicoli e godere del panorama dalla sua importante Pieve (Santa Maria Assunta):<\/p>\n
Secondo ultimissime ricerche risalenti all’anno 2013; dove oggi \u00e8 collocata la Pieve, intorno al 200 a.C.<\/i> fu costruito un tempio di culto romano; che poi fu ampliato con i secoli, per ottenere la chiesa di oggi.<\/p>\nLa Pieve<\/h2>\n
I primi accenni sulla pieve di oggi, si hanno, nell’850 d.C., nata in origine ad una sola navata, con il tetto a capriata; che veniva usato per le costruzioni dai romani. La pieve attuale risale nelle sue forme architettoniche al XIII secolo. La facciata, chiusa sul lato meridionale da un portico, \u00e8 spartita orizzontalmente da archetti su mensole scolpite a motivi zoomorfi e si apre in alto con un grande rosone, che \u00e8 patrimonio delle Belle Arti. Sopra il portale d’ingresso si trova un affresco (battesimo di Ges\u00f9) del maestro Marcello Tommasi. L’interno, a tre navate, ristrutturato nel Cinquecento quando ricevette il bel soffitto a cassettoni, conserva l’Assunzione della Vergine<\/i>, di Pietro da Talata, eccentrico pittore attivo tra Versilia e Garfagnana poco dopo la met\u00e0 del Quattrocento, una predella di Zacchia il Vecchio datata 1525 e un Sant’Antonio abate<\/i> in marmo attribuito a Niccol\u00f2 Civitali. L’organo instaurato nella mat\u00e0 dell’Ottocento da famosi organari Fiorentini; che venne costruito alla fine del 1700.<\/p>\n

The Stazzemese territory was inhabited since the Iron Age and then by the Etruscans as evidenced by the findings of pre-Roman burials: the first hint of these populations is around 800 BC. located in ancient Versilia, the so-called “Wasser” with more precision in Stazzema, at the time “Stathieme”. It was later inhabited by Ligurian Apuan tribes.<\/p>\n
Many of the names of the hamlets and localities of Stazzema recall the vocation for the extraction of this territory: The town of Gallena takes its name from the silver galena extracted in the area. Two locations are called “silversmith”: in Sant’Anna and near Ruosina di Seravezza. We also find the towns of Calcaferro and Buca della Vena where iron ore was mined<\/p>\n
Today Stazzema is a small village, which deserves a visit to stroll along the alleys and enjoy the view from its important parish church (Santa Maria Assunta):<\/p>\n
According to the latest research dating back to 2013; where the parish church is located today, around 200 BC a Roman cult temple was built; which was then expanded over the centuries, to obtain the church of today.<\/p>\n
The first hints on the parish church of today are in 850 AD, originally born with a single nave and a trussed roof; which was used for construction by the Romans. The current parish church dates back to its 13th century architectural forms. The facade, closed on the southern side by a portico, is divided horizontally by arches on shelves carved with zoomorphic motifs and opens upwards with a large rose window, which is a heritage of the Fine Arts. Above the entrance portal there is a fresco ( baptism of Jesus) by the master Marcello Tommasi. The interior, with three naves, renovated in the sixteenth century when it received the beautiful coffered ceiling, preserves the Assumption of the Virgin, by Pietro da Talata, an eccentric painter active between Versilia and Garfagnana shortly after the mid-fifteenth century, a predella by Zacchia il Old dated 1525 and a marble abbot Sant’Antonio attributed to Niccol\u00f2 Civitali. The organ set up in the 19th century by famous Florentine organ builders; which was built in the late 1700s.<\/p>\n
