Destination of <strong>pilgrimages<\/strong> since the seventeenth century, the centuries-old place of worship is known as the &#8220;Oratory of the ants&#8221; due to a singular natural phenomenon (a miracle, according to some): every two years, thousands of <strong>winged ants<\/strong> came to die on the threshold of the oratory, now consecrated as a sanctuary.
