Water quenches thirst, water digs, water preserves energy, the engine of the world. The Ponte della Mola takes its name from an ancient grindstone that was driven by this force in the vicinity. 22 arches, 155.5 meters, a height of 24.5 meters are the numbers and the tension of this monument to life. So majestic that it became a source of inspiration for numerous painters, in particular for Hector R. Franz. The Ponte della Mola belongs to the Anio Vetus and consists of a long viaduct with two floors of superimposed arches, in opus reticulatum and brick, probably dating back to the age of Hadrian. In 1965 the collapse of the central part of the bridge wounded the millenary body, but even now its presence makes us imagine how the Roman ingenuity knew no obstacles. These arches, like melancholic eyes, look at the valley, and despite time and wounds their gaze enchants and conquers space.<\/p>\n"}},"web":"https:\/\/sit.wp.webmapp.it\/poi\/ponte-della-mola\/","addr:street":"","addr:housenumber":"","addr:postcode":"","addr:city":"","contact:phone":"","contact:email":"","opening_hours":"","capacity":""},"geometry":{"type":"Point","coordinates":[12.824471220901499,41.89486286587719]}}
