Il paese sorge a 651 metri di altezza sulla sommit\u00e0 di una cima delle propaggini meridionali del gruppo montuoso dei Lucretili dominato dal Monte Morra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
L\u2019ampia porzione di territorio protetto compresa nei limiti del comune di San Polo dei Cavalieri, comprende aree caratterizzate da morfologie accidentate con profonde valli che definiscono rilievi e domi carbonatici dai versanti molto acclivi della dorsale del gruppo del monte Gennaro. Emerge isolata l\u2019orografia piramidale del monte Morra (1036 m) che sovrasta il paese, ben evidente anche all\u2019osservatore che ammira i Monti Lucretili da Roma o da altri punti della Campagna Romana. Nell’XI secolo, Castrum Santi Pauli<\/em>, venne fondato dai Monaci di san Polo e rest\u00f2 loro feudo fino a quando per volont\u00e0 di Papa Bonifacio IX pass\u00f2 agli Orsini. All’interno di una splendida area naturale del Parco dei Monti Lucretili, San polo dei Cavalieri fa parte anche dell’itinerario enogastronomico “Strada dell’olio” e dei prodotti tipici della Sabina. Nel paese possono essere visitate caratteristiche chiese, come quelle di Santa Lucia, San Rocco, Santa Liberata e San Nicola. In the eleventh century, Castrum Santi Pauli was founded by the Monks of San Polo and remained their feud until the will of Pope Boniface IX passed to the Orsini. Inside a beautiful natural area of the Monti Lucretili Park, San Polo dei Cavalieri is also part of the food and wine itinerary Strada dell’olio and the typical products of Sabina. In the village, you can visit characteristic churches, such as Santa Lucia, San Rocco, Santa Liberata, and San Nicola.
