Badia a Coneo fu fondata dai monaci vallombrosani agli inizi del XII secolo, in stile romanico, e costituisce uno dei maggiori esempi di architettura religiosa del territorio. Ha una pianta a croce latina caratteristica degli edifici vallombrosani e all’incrocio tra navata e transetto sorge una cupola a spicchi, che forma all’interno una configurazione ottagonale.<\/p>\n

I capitelli interni e la cornice che abbraccia l’edificio dall’esterno sono decorati con fiori stellati ed altre figure geometriche, altamente affascinanti. Badia a Con\u00e9o has been founded by Vallombrosian monks at the beginning of the XII century, in Romanic style, and it is of the most important examples of religious architecture in the territory. It has the form of a Latin cross, typical of every Vallombrosian buildings and in the meeting point of a nave and a transept there is a cupola divided into sectors which turns the internal configuration in an octagonal shape.<\/p>\n

The inner capitals and the frame embracing the edifice from outside are decorated with star-shaped flowers and other geometrical figures, highly fascinating.
