Due to its location, from Panzano you can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. Probably of Etruscan origin, it was a populous center since Roman times and therefore highly fortified, as evidenced by the substantial remains of the castle, probably built by the Firidolfi family, belonging to the caste of Ricasoli, around the keep of feudal times.<\/p>\n
Involved since 1260 in the wars between Florence and Siena, it underwent several sieges during the following centuries, which nevertheless left the city walls intact. Grazie alla posizione, \u00e8 possibile godere da qui di un bel panorama sulle colline circostanti. Di probabile origine etrusca, fu un centro popoloso fin dall\u2019epoca romana e di conseguenza altamente fortificato, come testimoniano i notevoli resti del castello, costruito probabilmente dalla famiglia Firidolfi, appartenente alla casta dei Ricasoli, attorno al cassero di epoca feudale.<\/p>\n
Coinvolto a partire dal 1260 nelle guerre tra Firenze e Siena, sub\u00ec diversi assedi nel corso dei secoli successivi, che tuttavia lasciarono intatta la cinta muraria.
