Rocca Strozzi \u00e8 il simbolo di Campi Bisenzio, nonch\u00e9 la maggior testimonianze del passato medievale del borgo. La costruzione al centro della piana fiorentina venne iniziata da Ubertino di Rossello Strozzi forse intorno ad un nucleo pi\u00f9 antico intorno al 1366 e conclusa pochi anni pi\u00f9 tardi ad opera di Carlo Strozzi.
\nLa prima attestazione documentaria \u00e8 infatti del 1378, negli stessi anni in cui la Repubblica fiorentina faceva costruire la cinta muraria del borgo di Campi, posto sulla sponda opposta del fiume Bisenzio.
\nLa Rocca indicata come “fortezza di Carlo degli Strozzi” in un elenco del 1409 riportante tutte le fortificazioni appartenute alla famiglia, perse la sua funzione bellica a partire dalla seconda met\u00e0 del XVI secolo, trasformandosi in centro agricolo.
\nL\u2019edificio, a guardia del ponte, si presenta oggi sostanzialmente intatto nelle sue forme originali: un poderoso mastio in laterizio sul quale si imposta la costruzione, quadrangolare e dotata di un cammino di ronda sporgente e di un magnifico torrione d\u2019angolo.

Rocca Strozzi is the symbol of Campi Bisenzio, as well as the greatest evidence of the medieval past of the village. The construction in the center of the Florentine plain was begun by Ubertino di Rossello Strozzi, perhaps around an older nucleus around 1366 and concluded a few years later by Carlo Strozzi.<\/p>\n
The first documentary attestation is in fact of 1378, in the same years in which the Florentine Republic had the walls of the village of Campi built on the opposite bank of the Bisenzio river.<\/p>\n
La Rocca named as “fortress of Carlo degli Strozzi” in a list of 1409 showing all the fortifications belonging to the family, lost its war function from the second half of the sixteenth century, becoming an agricultural center.<\/p>\n
The building, guarding the bridge, is today substantially intact in its original forms: a massive brick mastio on which the building is set, quadrangular and equipped with a protruding rampart walk and a magnificent corner tower.
